Harlequin is a leading global publisher of women's fiction. The company is headquartered in Toronto and has offices located throughout the world. Harlequin books are published in 26 languages spanning 109 international markets. More than 1,100 new titles are released in North American annually. Since its inception, Harlequin has shipped more than 5 billion books. The company's stated goal is to become the world's leading publisher of women's fiction.

In 2002, Harlequin implemented a new ERP system for North America, followed by a global consolidation system, but they required analytics and reporting to complement their new financial systems. Having found themselves dissatisfied with another vendor's solution for their North American operations, the company turned to Cyrulean for a system that would satisfy the needs of their global operations.

Cyrulean successfully implemented a complex multi-currency analytical and management reporting tool that satisfied Harlequin's needs on many levels. We implemented the system on time and on budget, and put information into play that now helps the company to manage its assets with increased ease and fluidity.

Following the success of the initial implementation, Harlequin asked Cyrulean to revisit the design of the North American system. Based on our recommendations, Cyrulean then redesigned and re-implemented the system, and actually expanded its functionality beyond the scope of the original project. The North American group now has ready access to a comprehensive reporting and analytic system.
